プロローグ
昭和43年12月1日まだ渋谷には現在のように立ち並ぶ高層ビルなど一つも無く、あたりには垣根があり朝顔が咲いていました。都電が走り、周りにお店は1・2件ほど。そんな中、当時は『鮨屋 わたらせ』として現在の場所に開店しました。
第1部
その後、やがて年月を経て『鮨屋 わたらせ』から『居酒屋 わたら瀬』へと屋号を変更します。お客様は仕事帰りに「ちょっと一杯」といった方も勿論ですが、むしろ渋谷にある家々に帰る途中に寄っていくという時代でした。わたら瀬はこの渋谷という地域に密着してその道を歩んでまいりました。
第2部
平成21年2月6日、
創業から40年を経て、我々は先代のオーナーからその歴史を引き継ぎ、『四季料理居酒屋 わたら瀬』として第2の創業を迎えます。
これを機に渋谷三丁目会の一員として渋谷14町会が集う金王八幡宮例大祭の神輿担ぎに毎年参加し“宮本”の半纏をまとい、地域とつながりを深めていきます。
また、八丈島とのつながりを生かし店づくりに大いに島の要素を取り入れていきました。
第3部
やがて渋谷はヒカリエ・渋谷ストリーム・渋谷ブリッジ・渋谷スクランブルスクエアと開発が進み、目覚ましい変化を遂げてまいります。
渋谷三丁目の神輿がそのビル群の間を縫って渡御するように、わたら瀬も時代の変化を感じながら歩みを続けてまいりました。
Prologue
On December 1, 1968, Shibuya still lacked the skyscrapers that line the streets today. Instead, there were hedges and morning glories in bloom. Streetcars ran through the area, and there were only one or two restaurants nearby. Amidst all this, we opened our restaurant in its current location as “Sushi Restaurant Watarase.”
Part 1
Over the years, we changed our name from “Sushi Restaurant Watarase” to “Izakaya Watarase.” While customers naturally stopped by for a quick drink after work, those who frequented the restaurant often stopped by on their way home from their homes in Shibuya. Watarase has been closely connected to the Shibuya community ever since.
Part 2
On February 6, 2009,
40 years after our founding, we took over the history from our previous owner and are celebrating our second founding as “Seasonal Cuisine Izakaya Watarase.”
Taking this opportunity, as a member of the Shibuya 3-Chome Association, we participated every year in carrying the mikoshi (portable shrine) at the Konno Hachiman Shrine Annual Festival, which brings together 14 neighborhood associations in Shibuya, wearing our “Miyamoto” haori coats, deepening our ties with the community.
We also took advantage of our connection with Hachijojima and incorporated many island elements into our store design.
Part 3
Shibuya eventually underwent remarkable development, with the development of Hikarie, Shibuya Stream, Shibuya Bridge, and Shibuya Scramble Square.
Just as the Shibuya 3-Chome mikoshi (portable shrine) weaves its way through these buildings, Watarase has continued to move forward, sensing the changing times.
